I want them! Perfect idea. You have two chests and two kids. One for each kid. At the end of each year you narrow down and put only your most favorite kid stuff in there. My MIL did this and 30 years later she has a great collection of DH's stuff. When DS1 was born we cracked into it. Found DH's old Bears sweatsuit that both of my boys have now worn, DH's glow-worm toy and a bunch of fun stuff.
